2001 / Humble beginnings

Our CEO Jerry Zhang entered China's tech industry 1995 after getting his bachelor's in Science from Beijing Institute of Technology, he worked in a technical role for the East Changwei Company and prior to founding Shinetech he served as the editor-in-chief for the Chinese Publication "Internet Weekly", seeing the growth of both global and China's need for software development he decided to establish Shinetech Software Inc. in Beijing

2003 / Journey to the west
Shinetech Software officially entered European and American software development markets, paving the way for further growth. Little did we know this move would open the door to our most significant markets and introduce us to most of our key clients.
2005 / The American dream
After four years of developing software for clients in North and Latin America, we learned that, to service our North American client base properly, we needed to be on the ground with them. On January 13th, 2005, we officially founded our first office in New York City.
2008 / The gold standard

We found a lot of our clients were requesting Microsoft development services. Shinetech decided that it would be in both our and our client's interest for us to become an official Microsoft Gold Certified Partner in Software Development. We have been partnered ever since.

2009 / Adapt & Grow
In late 2009, Shinetech was experiencing growing pains trying to compete in the software development market. With leadership from our CEO and an A-team of talented software experts, we decided to empower our engineers to go the extra mile and offer more services outside traditional software development.
2010 / London's Calling
As Shinetech grew its European client base, we knew that we needed to provide a higher, more intimate level of service and offer on-site development & customer service for our European clients. Shinetech entered the United Kingdom to formally open our first (but not last) European office in London. This year, we were first awarded the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific award.
2012 / Gartner, Cool Vendor

Our efforts have been recognized by Gartner, naming us a Cool Vendor in 2012. This milestone is a testament to our commitment to excellence and drives us to continue leading the way in fostering positive change within clients' business.

2013 / Culture shock
By 2013, Shinetech has already amassed a wealth of software development knowledge. However, we understood that we needed to go the extra mile and understand our clients on a deeper cultural level. We decided to send our engineers from various branches to work in our American offices for a few weeks to learn more about the culture and to improve interpersonal communication skills.
2015 / East to West coverage
As we grew our customer base it became apparent that being able to offer on-site services was a key to winning and maintaining great clients. In 2015 we opened two new offices. One in Karlstad, Sweden to service our Nordic and European clients. The other was in Sydney, Australia to service our Oceania & APAC clients.
2016 / North American growth
Continuing our momentum in regards to international expansion, we decided to cover both the east and west sides of the States, and we opened two new offices in North America – one in Vancouver, Canada and another in San Francisco. Having delivery centers in the heart of two high-tech cities has helped us maintain a highly-skilled talent pool and offer a level of onsite/hybrid service unique to Shinetech Software.
2019 / Certification & Awards
2019 was a good year for Shinetech, we have at this point had over 1,500 delivered software projects with 75% of our business being recitative. In 2019 we were entered into two competitions with two of our long term clients; these were HP Inc.-with Shinetech were selected as the finalist for the "Best Global Commerce Expansion" award at the 2019 Adobe Imagine Excellence Awards. Shinetech was also a finalist for the "Best Public Sector Digital Project" at the prestigious Computing Digital Technology Leaders Awards 2019. It was also this year that we officially were rewarded ISO IEC 27001 INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT
2020 / The pandemic and our resilience
2020 brought numerous hardships to the world. Businesses worldwide started to work remotely, and our customers were faced with multiple challenges that looked insurmountable at the beginning of the year. Since our customers were facing severe disruptions, Shinetech offered to share the risk and help our clients sustain their businesses through open communication, knowledge exchange (since our development teams primarily work remotely), and transparent actions. As a result, our customers’ businesses were still operational. We helped them set up remote work and opened three new offices (2 in AUS and 1 in NZ).
2021 / Happy birthday!
What started in 2001 as a drive to provide high-quality software development services has grown into a 600-people strong company. This year was all about Shinetech’s birthday; we celebrated our 20th anniversary by organizing a coding camp and the first Shinetech Honor of Kings eSports tournament. In 2021, we also had no pandemic-induced service disruption, helped our clients overcome Covid-19 transformations, and further established new partnerships. One of the top impacts we had was with our partners, NHS Barts Health, where we helped them quickly develop robust training and documentation software for Covid-related treatments.
2022 / Plans for the future
This year, we plan to share our knowledge about everything we at Shinetech do and how we do it. Currently, we are creating a playbook that should encompass our 20-year experience of working remotely. Although out-of-house software development has grown into an amazing industry, we see that it is still closed to the outside world. We want to change that. We plan to develop several articles about out-of-house software development best practices and share them with everyone. We want to condense our whole experience in an easily digestible way, even for someone who has never seen any software development process. 2024 / Cyber Essentials Plus Certification

Cyber Essentials Plus is an official UK Government-backed, industry-supported certification scheme to help organizations demonstrate operational security against the ever-growing threat of cyber-attacks and a commitment to cyber security. The certification also acknowledges Shinetech's strong security management ethos and procedural framework.
