Jerry Zhang, our CEO, embarked on his journey in China’s tech industry in 1995 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the Beijing Institute of Technology. He began his career in a technical role at East Changwei Company and later served as the editor-in-chief of the Chinese publication Internet Weekly. Recognizing the growing demand for software development both globally and within China, he founded Shinetech Software Inc. in Beijing.

From 2003 to 2005, Shinetech expanded into the European and American markets, building key partnerships that shaped our international foundation. Recognizing the need to be closer to our North American partners, we opened our first overseas office in New York City on January 13, 2005, strengthening our commitment to localized service and long-term collaboration.

In 2008, Shinetech became a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, enhancing our ability to deliver advanced solutions. By 2009, we focused on empowering our developers to innovate beyond traditional software development, offering more tailored services and strengthening our reputation as a trusted partner.

In 2010, Shinetech strengthened its global presence by opening a European office in London, offering on-site development and personalized service. Our growth earned international recognition, including the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific listing and Gartner’s Cool Vendor title in 2012, highlighting our commitment to excellence and global impact.

By 2013, Shinetech had accumulated a wealth of software development knowledge, positioning us as a trusted global partner. However, we recognized that to truly serve our partners, we needed to connect on a deeper cultural level. To achieve this, we sent engineers from various branches to work at our American offices for several weeks. This initiative was designed to help our teams better understand the culture, improve interpersonal communication, and build stronger relationships with our partners, ensuring that we could deliver even more tailored and effective solutions.

In 2015 and 2016, Shinetech expanded internationally, opening offices in Karlstad and Sydney to better serve Europe and Oceania, and later in Vancouver and San Francisco to strengthen our North American presence. This growth enhanced our ability to offer on-site and hybrid services with a highly skilled global team.

2019 marked a milestone for Shinetech, with over 1,500 projects delivered and 75% of business from repeat partners. We were finalists for the Adobe Imagine Excellence Awards with HP Inc. and the Computing Digital Technology Leaders Awards, and earned ISO/IEC 27001 certification for our commitment to security and quality.

The year 2020 brought unprecedented challenges to the world, forcing businesses to adapt to remote work and confront disruptions that seemed insurmountable. In response, Shinetech stepped up to support our partners through open communication, knowledge exchange, and transparent actions. Understanding the severity of the situation, we shared the risks with our partners, helping them navigate these turbulent times and keep their businesses operational. We also helped them establish remote work setups and, despite global challenges, expanded our presence, further strengthening our ability to serve partners in different regions.

In 2021, Shinetech celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of innovation and growth. We commemorated the milestone with a coding camp and our first Shinetech Honor of Kings eSports tournament. Despite the ongoing global challenges, we continued to provide uninterrupted service, helping our partners navigate the transformations brought on by the pandemic. A significant achievement was our collaboration with NHS Barts Health, where we helped rapidly develop robust training and documentation software for Covid-related treatments, showcasing our ability to make a meaningful impact in times of crisis.

In 2022, Shinetech focused on sharing the knowledge and expertise we've built over the past 20 years. We began developing a playbook to document our experience with remote software development, aiming to make it accessible to a wider audience. While out-of-house software development has evolved into a major industry, much of it remains closed off to outsiders. We’re committed to changing that by creating and publishing articles on best practices, with the goal of making our insights easily understandable, even for those new to the field. In 2023, we made significant strides in fostering a strong developer community, culminating in our inaugural Remote Developers Conference, which brought together over 100 remote developers to discuss the future of remote work. Our CEO also shared Shinetech’s core values in an interview with China Daily, emphasizing our commitment to agile development and remote work practices. To further encourage community engagement, we organized football matches and sponsored local American football teams, promoting teamwork and connection.

In 2024, Shinetech achieved over $35 million in annual sales, strengthening global partner relationships and supporting more employees at partner locations. Our management team’s market inspections in the U.S. and Australia led to the opening of a subsidiary in Melbourne. We also enhanced recruitment through a university presentation and earned the Cyber Essentials Plus certification for security.
